located in different agro ecological
regions for tackling diverse aspects
of soil and water salinity problems.
The research farm at Karnal represents
alkali soils underlain with fresh
water aquifer.

Research on agro-forestry is conducted
at Bir Reserve Forest (at Hissar in
Haryana). The institute’s farms
at Regional Research Stations of Canning,
Bharuch
and Lucknow
represent coastal saline, saline vertisols
and Gangetic alluvial sodic soils, respectively. |
